When to eat your carbs in relation to your workout

1) A few hours before your workout, combined with protein and fats.

2) If performance is of utmost importance, carbs right before or intra workout can delay fatigue.

3) Carbs consumed post workout combined with protein can increase protein synthesis (muscle building).

4) If you struggle with sleep, put some of your allotted carbs to your pre bedtime snack.

5) There's a carb source for everyone: if you're like me who have a huge appetite, then it's wise to choose vegetables as my staple carb since it allows you to eat a big amount of food. However, if you have a small appetite, then grains and refined sugars make more sense to choose.
