Cardio burns calories!

Steady state, intervals, slow and steady, intense and steady, varying fartlek etc, No matter the style any activity moving your body helps to create an energy deficit.

The more weight you want to lose, the more you benefit from cardio

A daily cardio session is a great way to burn calories as well as it is a natural antidepressant, can help you recover from strenuous training, increases the good energy power plants in your muscles that burn calories for you.

Worrying about losing muscle is outrageous when you can’t see the muscles yet, plus, you do use muscle when you do cardio too, not just your heart and lungs. The greatest body transformations on my program are usually the women who work it hard with both cardio and weights, but most importantly. They are consistent with the most important part of fat loss: diet adherence.

So why do people say ‘cardio doesn’t work’?
Because people love to forgot cardio didn’t compensate by eating an extra donut, they did.

Cardio plus diet in check = BOOM, maximizing fat loss results.
Cardio with ‘eat a bit more because I deserve it after my cardio that I burnt 1000 calories during my 20 min session’  = most likely not effective due to the fact “nobody” burns 1000 calories in 20 min, probably more 300 max and that is if you’re pretty heavy, not petite & lean.

If cardio drives up your appetite, be aware that eating more will cancel out what you’re tying to achieve.

So yes, cardio is excellent when implemented correctly for your primary goal.
